What Are Injectable Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are soft, gel-like substances that are injected under the skin. They can address a number of concerns, including smoothing deep under-eye circles, lifting cheekbones, volumizing lips, smoothing lip lines and nasolabial folds, and improving skin quality on various parts of the body. These days, you can choose from a variety of injectable fillers to rejuvenate your face and body.
One of the most common compounds used in dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring substance found in our skin, and it plays a major role in keeping skin hydrated and volumized. HA fillers give you instant gratification and generally last 9-12 months before being gradually absorbed by the body.
We also offer biostimulators, a regenerative therapy designed to restore collagen and elastin in the skin. Biostimulators are microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite in a water-based gel. Injected into the dermis — the skin's deep layer — biostimulators go beyond the normal results of dermal fillers by stimulating the skin to produce its own volume through new tissue growth. When biostimulators are administered, they encourage new growth of your body own collagen and elastin. As a result, improvements are not as immediate as an HA filler, however, the results can last up to two years. Primarily used to rejuvenate the appearance of the face, biostimulators can also be applied to rejuvenate the entire body.
